Yayyyyyy!!!! :w00t!:

The 30th was my birthday! I turned 15. :) I've been soooo busy though with school and activities I haven't been able to tell you guys about it! =P
Basically I just spend time with my family and it was FUN. ^_^ I got a lot of hair accessories (hahaha, everyone knows I love shiny stuff!) and other fun stuff. I had to still do homework the rest of the day when we weren't celebrating.... so much stuff to do! And it's not even just schoolwork...

I have a new cello teacher, and she needs more practice time from me! It's worth it though - she's an amazing teacher! And... she was taught by Mstislav Rostropovich. O_O She's met Shostakovich and awesome ppl like that when she lived in Russia, and she has sooo much to say!!

I also am on the high school DEBATE team this year!!! :O
Edina has a tradition of being amazing at debate. :D Our varsity team goes all over the US for competitions and stuff...
And this year the Novice team (1st years) has a new coach, who is totally awesome! He's just out of high school and totally wants us to do some "asskicking". xDDD

I just had my first debate tournament yesterday!!!!!!!!
I was sooooo nervous the night before, but that day.... I was calm. :O Kinda scarily, too!
On the bus the varsity kids were playing techno music from an iPod speaker to get us to be excited. xD When we got there, our coach took us aside and made us hop up and down to warm up and recite toungetwisters. xD Then.... THE GAME WAS ON!!!!
The subject we're debating is whether or not a just society ought use the death penalty as a form of punishment.
We had four rounds, and I GOT A 3-1 RECORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The kid I lost to ended up getting two awards and it was his 3rd tournament, so I don't really feel bad about that. xD
After the tourney, our coach told everyone that he was really proud of us. ^________________^

I am exhausted!!!!

Love you all!

Sometimes you just don't understand...

why do bad things come in bunches?

Why do good things come all at once?

Philosophical question of the day. :)

But I'm just here to talk about this week, the FIRST WEEK OF SOPHOMORE YEAR!! (10th grade)

Let's go through my schedule. I'm taking a 0 hour, it starts 1 hour before school. It's AP European History!!! :) And I got the GOOD teacher!!!
His name is Mr. Baron, but you can also call him Herr Baron, because he's the German teacher. As soon as class started, he started lecturing. But it's not a lecture.
It feels like a one-on-one talk. So far he's taught us "pre-history"... about the Greeks, the Romans and now the Middle Ages. The Hundred Years War... the littlest I can say is FASCINATING. And his voice grips you, it leads you into the material. I feel like I've walked into a psychiatrists office - I feel completely calm and ABSORBED into the material. With a bit of humor and his teaching skills, Baron is like King Charlemagne of the class. :)
Mr. Baron, described in small words, would be KIND and PLEASANT, and the color of the OCEAN.

1st hour is the class I have been waiting for ever since 7th grade Spanish class. When I had the teacher of the universe and he left to the high school... well, guess?? For Enriched Spanish IV, I have Senor Gronberg!!!! You walk in, and the energy in the classroom is... ABOVE THE ROOF. When your teacher's excitement is this high, it's contagious! It's first hour, and through their tiredness, every student is laughing and joking and giving all they've got to the class! (He even told us we can bring coffee to class because it's so early. :) ) Of course, Gronberg leads us through lessons, but each one is embellished with humor and acting, the class is almost like a show! In a few words, THE CLASS I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR. Spanish hasn't been this fun since 7th grade... ^_____________________^
Gronberg is HAPPY, EXCITED. He would be the color of the SUN.

French III is led my Madame Anderson, a kind little old lady. So far it's pretty easy.
Enriched Chemistry is led by Mr. Weiland. He's super nice, and it should be very interesting...
Language Arts is led by Ms. West. She's a stereotypical english teacher... very nice.
Math is led by Mr. Mace. I have no comment on Mr. Mace, although a lot of people that have had him don't like him... I don't see why yet...

Last hour Orchestra is a BLAST. Ms. Bartsch is INTO IT. She has a GOOD ATTITUDE and she gets the best out of everyone's playing! It should be VERY fun!!!!! Bartsch would be the color of the SKY. In a word, I can describe her as ENTHUSIASTIC.

I think this will be a pretty good year.

We'll just have to wait and see.

:)

OMGYAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!

:boogie: :w00t!: :boogie: :w00t!: :boogie:

Today, I took the test to skip a year of Spanish over the summer, and I PASSED!!!!!!!! ^____^ That means, instead of going to Spanish III this year, I jump from Spanish II to Spanish IV Enriched!! So it's extra intense!! ^_^
This morning I was like, psychotic. xDDD There was a multiple choice (fill in the bubble) section with 180 QUESTIONS. >_< Yeah, I almost died, lol. Then, there was a "writing sample". Basically, they asked me to describe a special event I've had in school and how it will affect my future. I stuffed as many tenses as I could in there, lol!! At the end I just put in really random sentences just to show them that I could use those tenses. xD Then, the ultimate challenge - THE ORAL INTERVIEW. :O That's the hardest part, because they ask you all sorts of questions in Spanish and you have to answer them in Spanish while trying to show off the tenses and vocabulary you know. (Spanish III is all about tenses: you start knowing 4 and you end knowing 15. :| ) There were two teachers conducting the test, so you're alone with two fluent spanish speakers. xDDD One of them is Senor Diaz, whose first language is Spanish. The other teacher is my favorite, Senor Gronberg!!! Gronberg asked most of the questions, he has good pronounciation plus I've had him before, so I answered really well. But when Diaz asked a question it was really scary because all the words seemed like one big "bdadaodhsjaisjdoajsjiads". xDDD It took me 10 seconds just to figure out what he had said lol. But I must have answered everything ok because I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :excited:

*partytime*
